Agiloft would like to express our extreme gratitude and support for all frontline healthcare workers around the world for their hard work and sacrifice during this difficult time. We see you and stand with you. Specifically, we would like to highlight some of the work our customers are doing to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic.
COVID-19 testing
Since this crisis began, Agiloft CLM customer Roche Diagnostics was shipping tests for COVID-19 to hospitals and labs across the country. It shipped its first 400,000 tests the week of March 13 and has continued to ship 8 million tests per month under an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA. These tests have been essential to the fight against this virus, providing results in only 3.5 hours and in use at 100 hospitals and labs in all 50 states, as of April 28.
“We are grateful to the FDA for accelerating the process to grant Emergency Use Authorization for this test,” said Matt Sause, president and CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America. “We began shipping test kits immediately so labs could start to offer high-volume testing as soon as possible and give more patients access to reliable diagnostics. Together, we can help combat this serious disease.”

Vaccine for COVID-19
Several biotechnology companies are quickly developing a new vaccine for the COVID-19 virus. As soon as the virus genome was available, pharmaceutical companies began creating several vaccine candidates. To say things are moving fast in this story is an understatement. While a vaccine will not be approved by the FDA for at least several months, we are immensely grateful of the hard work being done by dedicated scientists and technicians around the world.
Antibody testing
Roche also received Emergency Use Authorization to scale up its antibody test for the coronavirus, with the goal of delivering over 100 million test kits by the end of the year. Antibody tests are essential to analyzing how the virus has spread and to determine if populations have developed an immunity to the disease. You can read more about Roche’s Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Test on the company’s testing FAQ page.
All healthcare workers
We would also like to give a big thank you to everyone working at Children’s National, UC Health, East Virginia Medical School (EVMS), Fraser Health Authority, Ob Hospitalist Group, and all of our customers and anyone around the world who are working in hospitals, healthcare centers, labs, or in-home care that are putting themselves in harms way to treat the sick and protect us all.
